Today, we join our Ukrainian friends in Swindon, Swindon Welcomes Ukraine organisation and others worldwide in celebrating 33 years of Ukraine's independence. This day, more than ever, holds deep significance as the country bravely fights to protect the freedom its people overwhelmingly voted for in 1991.
We honor and remember all those who have lost their lives, suffered injuries, and endured unimaginable hardships due to the ongoing conflict. We also celebrate the rich culture of Ukraine—its music, dance, food, and traditions—that continue to inspire and bring people together.
Swindon has always been a town of compassion and support, and today is no different. We stand in solidarity with Ukraine and its resilient people, offering our friendship and unwavering support.
From all of us at The Swindon Humanitarian Aid Partnership, we extend our heartfelt wishes for a peaceful and just resolution to the conflict, allowing those who wish to return home to do so in safety.
Happy Independence Day, Ukraine! Together, we stand strong.
