SHAP 2025 Review

Just look what we achieved together!

2025 was another incredibly busy year for The Swindon Humanitarian Aid Partnership.

Thanks to the generosity of so many individual donors and organisations, we received a record number of donations. Our dedicated team of volunteers sorted and packed over 8,000 boxes of aid, loading all 90 tonnes onto 7 huge 40 ft trailers alongside hospital beds,  generators, walking aids and much more.

All of the aid was delivered to Ukraine for distribution throughout the year to some of the country’s most vulnerable areas.  The towns of Kharkiv, Lutsk, Dnipro, Khmelnitsky, Kropyvnytskyi, together with the regions of Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia all received much needed help because of your generosity.

In December our SHAP-a-Wrap project meant we were able to wrap and dispatch  over 1,500  Christmas parcels, all generously donated by the public.  Hopefully these brought some much needed cheer to children whose lives have been so desperately upset by the war.

With cash gifts SHAP was also able to purchase and donate two vehicles, a Mitsubishi L-200 pick-up and a Ford Transit van, both of which were filled with aid and driven to Ukraine by volunteers. Thankfully, these vehicles are still in active service, distributing aid and enabling emergency evacuations.

SHAP 2025 review of partnerships and support

In our SHAP 2025 review we would like to say a huge thank you to all our volunteers and colleagues who have worked so hard to keep everything running throughout this challenging year and to our amazing partner organisations.

Swindon Borough Council deserves a special mention as without their provision of our large warehouse facility in central Swindon, SHAP could not provide such vitally needed support to Ukraine.

Some of the many other partners and organisations who have been wonderfully  supportive this past year are:

  • Help Ukraine Group Support (HUGS)

  • 1st Class Logistics

  • Highworth & District Lions Club

  • New Forest for Ukraine

  • Swindon Concert Band

  • Swindon Lions Club

  • V-Aid.

This is naming but a few, there are so many more.

Thanks also go the staff who help at our Swindon collection points at the Community Halls of Christ Church in Old Town Swindon and The Ellendune Centre in Wroughton.  Every one of you is important – thank you for staying with us.

We are small but MIGHTY with your help!
