SHAP is still strongly committed to our mission of helping Ukraine, Ukrainians, and others in need — and we’re incredibly grateful to all the amazing volunteers who have supported us so far.
We wanted to share a quick update about our new Board, which was appointed in April. After the sad passing of Mike Bowden, it was important to make sure SHAP continued — to honour his legacy and the mission he dedicated so much of his life to.
We’re really pleased to let you know that Nataliya Suhoveeva is now the new Chair of SHAP. Nataliya has been with SHAP from the very beginning and has always had the support and trust of our volunteers. With her experience working on international and cross-border projects, and her deep passion for humanitarian work, we know SHAP is in good hands.
We wish Nataliya the very best in her new role!
And finally, we will always be grateful to Mike for founding SHAP. His vision, kindness, and leadership made it all possible — and we’ll carry that forward every day.

The Swindon Humanitarian Aid Partnership (SHAP) is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that was formed in the days after the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Our board is made up of British and Ukrainian nationals and with a dedicated team of volunteers we remain determined to support Ukraine and Ukrainians to the best of our ability. We pride ourselves with our Candles for Ukraine, Buses for Ukraine and Aid for Ukraine initiatives with the aim to lessen the hardship in Ukraine as best we can. We are forever grateful for any and all donations we receive. These donations go directly towards our cause - whether that be funding a lorry to transport vast quantities of aid, buying vehicles such as vans or pick-up trucks to donate to Ukraine, or for our bus transformations.
